Bloodbath in US stock markets; Nasdaq, S&P, Dow slump

Nasdaq led a selloff among Wall Street's main indexes on Monday, slumping over 3% to a near six-month low. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped over 378.81 points, or 0.89%, to 42,422.91. The 500-stock S&P dropped to its lowest levels since September 2024. The fall came after US President Donald Trump refused to rule out recession following his tariff actions.

In a recent report, JPMorgan Chase & Co stated that it'll take 134 years for the world to reach gender equality. Sumon K Chakrabarti, Co-founder and CEO of advertising agency Buffalo Soldiers, said influencers "are not even being considered" by brands in some instances after the controversy over comedian Samay Raina's show 'India's Got Latent'. IndusInd Bank on Monday informed the stock exchanges that during internal review of processes relating to Other Asset and Other Liability accounts of the derivative portfolio, the bank noted some discrepancies in these account balances. "Bank's detailed internal review has estimated an adverse impact of approximately 2.35% of the bank's net worth as of December 2024," the bank said.
