Public Labour Prosecutor's Office (MPT) in Brazil's Bahia is suing Chinese EV-maker BYD and two of its contractors over using workers in "slave-like" labour conditions and engaging in human trafficking. MPT is further seeking over ₹380 crore in damages from these three firms. Around 220 Chinese workers affiliated with BYD plant in Brazil were rescued from human rights-violating work conditions.
