Wockhardt denied allegations levelled by Congress against the firm saying Carol Info Services, a firm linked to Wockhardt, paid ₹2.16-crore rent to SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch. "We...state that these allegations are completely baseless and misleading," Wockhardt said. Congress had claimed Madhabi received the rent while SEBI was investigating Carol Info, pointing to a conflict of interest.

Hexaware Technologies has filed the IPO prospectus to raise ₹9,950 crore via offer for sale by its parent firm Carlyle. The firm's IPO would be India's biggest-ever in the IT services sector, followed by TCS' ₹4,713-crore IPO in 2002. Carlyle owns 95.03% stake in Hexaware, which it had purchased from Baring Private Equity Asia for around $3 billion in 2021.

As many as 1,887 creditors have so far filed claims worth $1.5 billion against BYJU'S, the Byju Raveendran-led startup admitted to insolvency, Reuters reported citing insolvency board documents. The startup owes $18.7 million to Centre's Revenue Department and $82.3 million to tax department of Karnataka, where BYJU'S is based. The tax authorities labelled the claims as "statutory dues".

The Adani Group has committed to supplying power to Bangladesh despite dues exceeding $800 million, sources said. The company has also requested Bangladesh's interim government to settle these dues to avoid any crisis, reports claimed. Adani Power's Godda plant in Jharkhand has a 100% supply contract with the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB), the country's power distribution utility.

Electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy is set to file its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI next week to raise ₹4,500 crore, reported Moneycontrol. It is reportedly targeting a valuation of around $2.5 billion (₹20,000 crore), which is nearly double of its valuation in the last funding round. Ather's rival Ola Electric raised ₹6,146 crore via IPO last month.

US added 1.42 lakh jobs in August this year, up from 89,000 new jobs added in July 2024, but still missed expert estimates of 1.60 lakh jobs. US' unemployment rate also dipped from 4.3% in July to 4.2% in August. August's job growth is considerably lower than the average monthly growth of 2.02 lakh jobs over the past 12 months.
