Highest FII outflow in 2 months in India, ₹10,016 cr equities sold

FIIs poured in ₹10,016 crore into Indian equities for the second straight session on Tuesday, marking it the biggest single-day selloff in over two months beginning February 28, as per NSE. Meanwhile, the DII net purchase for the same session was worth ₹6,738 crore. FIIs bought shares worth ₹14,789 crore and sold ₹24,804 crore worth shares on May-20 trading session.

A Delhi court dismissed the defamation case filed by Godfrey Phillips India directors against the firm's Executive Director Samir Modi. The case was based on Samir stating that he was allegedly assaulted by his mother-the firm's MD Bina Modi, and others during a 2024 board meeting. Meanwhile, the police had confirmed the assault but failed to produce evidence for it.

Dry fruit imports from Afghanistan have become costlier due to trade suspensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack. The land route used to import dry fruits from Afghanistan via Pakistan is severed, said the president of Khari Baoli Traders' Association in Old Delhi. Earlier, 160 trucks carrying dry fruits from Afghanistan were allowed to enter via Attari-Wagah border.

Schloss Bangalore, owner of The Leela Hotels and Resorts will open its ₹3,500 crore IPO on May 26. The IPO includes a fresh issue of ₹2,500 crore and an offer for sale of ₹1,000 crore worth of shares by promoter Project Ballet Bangalore Holdings. The three-day IPO will close on May 28, with shares likely to list on June 2.

Bangladesh will slash duties on at least 100 types of goods with an aim to create favourable ground for negotiations in wake of the additional tariffs imposed by US, a media report said. Last month, President Donald Trump declared a 10% baseline tax on imports from all countries and higher tariffs on several countries, including a 37% tariff on Bangladesh.
