Trump & Xi likely to talk soon to ease trade tensions: Bessent

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Sunday that President Donald Trump could speak "very soon" with Chinese President Xi Jinping to ease trade tensions. Trump had accused China of violating a recent deal, negotiated by Bessent, to lower high tariffs for 90 days. Earlier, US and China had slashed tariffs on each other by 115% for 90 days.

Air India CEO Campbell Wilson, when asked if airline would pass on additional costs incurred due to Pakistan’s airspace closure to passengers, said it does get passed on to them ultimately. “Whether there are fewer seats available and the remaining seats are under higher demand, or we just pass through the actual cost increase we incurred,” he said.

Air India is set to end its partnership with Turkish Technic, which provides maintenance for its Boeing 777 aircraft, NDTV reported. "We'll find alternatives. We want to respect public sentiment," CEO Campbell Wilson said. Centre has asked IndiGo to end its agreement with Turkish Airlines, days after a Turkish firm's contracts with Indian airports were revoked over national security concerns.

India's gross GST collection for May 2025 reached ₹2.01 lakh crore, marking a 16.4% increase from ₹1.72 lakh crore collected in May 2024.
