Dubai-based Indian billionaire Balvinder Singh Sahni, jailed for five years for money laundering, had purchased a "D5" vehicle licence plate for AED 33 million (about ₹76 crore). He'd bought another "O9" number plate for ₹56 crore, citing his belief in the lucky number nine. Sahni, who lives in a ₹843-crore Dubai mansion, also purchased a mobile number for ₹10 crore.

India's online video sector could see a revenue loss of $2.4 billion and a decline of 158 million users by 2029 if digital piracy is not controlled, a new study stated. Around 90 million users in India accessed pirated videos in 2024, which resulted in a $1.2-billion revenue loss. Controlling piracy may generate 47,000 new jobs in the sector.

US-based TPG will be acquiring a 35% stake in Serum Institute of India (SII) and German firm SCHOTT Pharma's joint venture (JV) SCHOTT Poonawalla. SII had earlier reportedly agreed to sell around 30-40% stake held by it in SCHOTT Poonwalla to TPG. After the acquisition, SII will retain minority stake while SCHOTT Pharma will maintain 50% ownership in the JV.

India saw a higher number of pre-owned luxury cars being sold compared to new ones in 2024, Business Standard reported citing industry estimates. Around 80,000 pre-owned luxury cars were sold while 50,000 new ones were sold in the same period. The report highlighted India's shift towards utility vehicles as they accounted for 65% of total passenger vehicle sales in 2024.
