A total of 31.52 lakh metric tons (MT) wheat has been procured in Haryana since April 1 this year, officials said on Thursday. Out of this, 8.59 lakh metric tonnes of wheat have been lifted. A government spokesperson said wheat has been procured from over 2 lakh farmers, and ₹1,400 crore has been transferred directly to the farmers' bank accounts.
