Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman responded to the rupee hitting record lows against the USD for the first time. She said exchange rates are "too sensitive" to be dictated or excessively managed by the government and that the currency must be allowed to "find its own way". She added that a weaker rupee can offer some respite as exporters can capitalise.
