Rupee hits record low of 96.38, falls for seventh straight session

The Indian rupee fell to a record low of 96.38 against the dollar on Tuesday. Elevated crude oil prices, weakness across Asian currencies, subdued global risk appetite, and rising US bond yields weighed on the domestic currency. The rupee has fallen for seven consecutive sessions, losing about 2.2% during the period and hitting new record lows repeatedly.
