Marking 10 years of Startup India, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal highlighted that India now has over 2 lakh DPIIT-recognised startups, which have created more than 21 lakh jobs. Nearly 48% of these startups come from Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. The decade saw policy reforms, patent fee rebates, faster exits and India emerging as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem.
