Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman laid the foundation for Assam's first Technology and Vocational Education and Training (T-VET) University in Gohpur, named Swahid Kanaklata Barua State University. Built at a cost of ₹415 crore, it will focus on AI, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. The project honours freedom fighter Kanaklata Barua and aims to boost skill development.
