Nearly 400 publishers sue OpenAI, Microsoft for scraping content

Nearly 400 US newspaper publishers have sued OpenAI and Microsoft, alleging the firms "scraped, copied, and ingested" their articles to train their AI models without permission. The lawsuit claims that the firms "systematically and secretly crawled" the publishers' websites and copied their original articles onto servers. This comes as CNN, Merriam-Webster, and Reddit earlier sued Perplexity AI.
