Microsoft reported a $3.2 billion gain from its investment in AI firm Anthropic in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026. Microsoft had invested $5 billion in Anthropic in November 2025 in a deal where the AI firm agreed to purchase Azure services worth $30 billion. Microsoft marked down its investments in OpenAI about $600 million in the fourth quarter.
