The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has sought a luxury tax on purchases made through e-commerce platforms, saying online shopping should be considered a "luxury". The traders' group also wants an independent regulatory body for e-commerce. CAIT accused e-commerce platforms of anti-competitive practices and plans to submit these recommendations to the government.
