India's seafood sector diversifies beyond US amid rising tariffs

India's seafood sector is reducing its reliance on the US as rising tariffs push exporters toward diversified markets. Shrimp exports grew 18% in value and 11% in volume in 5MFY26, driven mainly by Vietnam, China, Belgium and Russia. Non-US markets now form 57% of shrimp exports, helping offset steep US tariffs and supporting long-term market expansion.
