India launches ₹22,919 cr ECMS to boost electronics making
Launched on May 1, 2025, the ₹22,919 crore Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme aims to boost local production of electronic parts, reduce imports, and create over 91,000 jobs. Nearly 100 companies, including Tata and Foxconn, have applied. With strong interest, the government may extend the July 31 deadline and start project approvals by August–September.
