Former NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Dr Rajiv Kumar told on 'How India’s Economy Works' that India’s manufacturing growth needs stronger export competitiveness. He said sectors such as textiles, apparel, leather, food processing and light manufacturing have not scaled enough, and warned that protectionism, weak SME support and limited labour-intensive jobs remain barriers.
