Google has bagged a power distribution (discom) licence for its upcoming data centre hub worth $15 billion (about ₹1.4 lakh crore) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The project will have a capacity of 1 GW and is the largest single foreign direct investment in the country's history. Google is the first private company to get such a licence in Andhra Pradesh.
