Fintech startup Bachatt has raised over ₹34 crore in a seed funding round co-led by Lightspeed and Info Edge Ventures. While Lightspeed infused ₹23 crore, $8 crore was infused by the Sanjeev Bikhchandani-led VC firm. The round saw Urban Company cofounder Abhiraj Bhal, L&T Finance Sunil Prabhune, OYO COO Abhinav Sinha and CSO Maninder Gulati join the startup table.

Avaana Capital has led a ₹32 crore seed funding round in GreenGrahi, marking India’s largest investment in insect-based biotech. Other backers include Huddle Ventures, Campus Fund, Blume Founders Fund, and prominent angels. GreenGrahi uses Black Soldier Fly tech to produce sustainable animal feed and agri-inputs. The funds will support its BSF bio-factory buildout and global expansion.

Tesla CFO Vaibhav Taneja said India is a "great market" but its car tariffs "create a lot of anxiety". "The same car which we're sending is 100% more expensive than what it is...People feel...they're paying too much for the car," he stated. "That's why we've been...careful trying to figure out when is the right time (to enter India)," he added.

Snapdeal Co-founder Kunal Bahl shared visuals from his recent trip on social media and wrote, "Beauty of Pahalgam from my last trip." IIT Roorkee alumnus Shantanu Agarwal-led Mati Carbon has won the $50 million grand prize in the XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition. The startup uses an enhanced rock weathering model, which captures carbon dioxide while boosting crop yields for farmers. Mati, which works with farmers in India, Tanzania and Zambia, spreads crushed basalt on farmers' fields to accelerate a natural weathering process.

Several units within Google have informed remote employees that they must come to their nearest office at least three days a week or take a voluntary exit. In February, Google's AI workers were told they should be in the office every weekday, with 60 hours a week being "the sweet spot of productivity". Google has also been downsizing various teams.

Ather Energy's founders Tarun Mehta (CEO) and Swapnil Jain (CTO) will receive an annual pay of ₹3 crore each, Moneycontrol reported, citing the company's Red Herring Prospectus. Their pay could also increase to up to ₹5 crore each in years when Ather reports inadequate or no profits. The electric scooter maker will launch its IPO next week.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided eight locations linked to FIITJEE across Delhi-NCR in connection with a money laundering probe. This comes after Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) registered an FIR based on complaints from parents following the abrupt closure of the coaching institute's centres. ED also reportedly searched the residential premises of the FIITJEE owner DK Goel.

US President Donald Trump's memecoin jumped over 60% on Wednesday after the cryptocurrency's website offered investors a private dinner with him. As per the announcement, the top 220 $TRUMP coin holders will be invited to dine with him at Trump National Golf Club in Washington, DC, on May 22. Top 25 holders will also get a "private reception" with him.

Rakesh Ranjan, the CEO of Zomato's food delivery business, is stepping down from his current position and moving to another role within the company as part of a leadership reshuffle, reports said. Ranjan assumed the CEO role in June 2023. Zomato Founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal will directly lead food delivery operations in the coming months.
