The Gates Foundation and OpenAI have announced a $50 million partnership called Horizon1000 to bring AI tools into 1,000 primary health clinics across Africa by 2028. The programme will begin in Rwanda and later expand to other countries. AI will support tasks like patient intake, triage, paperwork, follow-ups, referrals, and medical information in local languages.
