Foreign investors return to Indian equities after 4-month selloff, invest ₹20,200 crore

Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) broke a four-month selling streak in July by investing ₹20,200 crore in Indian equities. The turnaround follows massive net outflows exceeding ₹2.54 lakh crore earlier in 2026, including a record ₹1.17 lakh crore withdrawn in March alone. Analysts attributed the renewed buying to reasonable valuations, improving corporate earnings and easing global pressures.
