Sam Altman's newest venture Merge Labs may use magnetic fields and ultrasound to read people's minds, The Verge reported. He has hired Mikhail Shapiro, an award-winning biomolecular engineer working on using ultrasound to interact with human brain. The OpenAI CEO had recently said he doesn't like Elon Musk-led Neuralink's invasive approach, saying he'd "definitely not sow something to my brain".
