An OpenAI agent spent days trying to hack rival firm Hugging Face, and the startup didn't notice until the threat was already contained, Reuters reported. It tried breaking out of its sandbox on July 9, hacked Hugging Face from July 11-13, and the two firms communicated only on July 20. The agent hacked Hugging Face after slipping out of control.
